             The Chinese Penetrating Massage Institute was established in June 2000 by Lydia Wu, Dr.T.C.M.*, who practiced with her husband George Cai, Dr.T.C.M., at the Ottawa Chinese Medical Centre since joining him from China in 1985. Both Lydia Wu and George Cai received their training in Shanghai, China, where they practiced for 13 and 17 years, respectively, before emigrating to Canada.

             Lydia Wu, is a skilled practitioner of Chinese Penetrating Massage, which is a powerful treatment method developed by her that is based on the theory and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in particular its massage techniques. Although Chinese Penetrating Massage can be used to treat a wide variety of ailments, Lydia Wu specializes in the treatment of injuries and mobility problems of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and their membranes.

             The Institute also offers a deep relaxation massage, either 60 or 90 minutes in length, that reduces muscular tension, relieves stress, and can help to prevent the development of stress-related illness.              George Cai is a noted acupuncturist, renowned in China for his skill in the use of Chinese Herbal Medicine, who specializes in treating asthma, colitis, and problems of both the male and female reproductive systems, including sterility, painful and abnormally heavy menstruation, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and endometriosis.
